DAGMAR METZ

about me

Hello! My name is Dagmar Metz and I live in Oberusel, close to Frankfurt a.M.

I was born 1964, am married and mother of two adult children. In 2012 I completed my doula training with Melanie Schöne and Debra Pascali (DONA) in Germany.

This training was my first step towards a completely different career after law school and working as a tax accountant. Since then I participated in many additional workshops and trainings in order to develop various skills and to be able to support my clients even better.

I accompany families in the Rhein-Main and Taunus area and have supported almost 50 births over the years. My daughter was born in 1996 in Frankfurt, my son in 1998 in New York City. Therefore I experienced two different ways of treating pregnant women giving birth. Over time I especially liked working with families from different cultures – and I was happy to meet people from different countries and cultures. I love the individual character, unpredictability and uniqueness of each child’s birth. It’s a matter truly dear to my heart to support each woman and her great inner strength to give birth and to have a perfect birth for each family. I offer my services in German and English.

My training and background

Meanwhile I completed trainings in psychotherapy (Heilpraktikerin) and also offer counselling in lactation/nursing, sleep and self-regulation of babies and toddlers. In addition to these trainings I was able to gain practical skills at the Vitos Tagesklinik for Mothers and Children and as a family consultant at the Frühe Hilfen Oberursel. The beginning of life is a wonderful and very important time with a big impact on the whole being. I hope that – through my work as a Doula – many people can have a positive birth experience that is a treasured memory and empowers them for the rest of their lives.

I am a positive person. I will take you and your issues very seriously, but sometimes a good laugh can also help to find a new perspective on problems and to reevaluate them with ease 🙂
HAPPINESS COMES IN WAVES – this is true for birth and your whole life!

I’m looking forward to hearing from you!

If a woman doesn’t look like a goddess during labor, then someone isn’t treating her right.

Choosing where and how you will give birth is one of the most important preparations you can make for a good breastfeeding experience.
